Diez Negritos, de Agatha Christie
El origen de las reuniones de desconocidos de las que no escapa ni el mayordomo.
Sin duda, es la novela más vendida de la escritora británica Agatha Christie.
Esta fantástica historia se centra en diez personajes diferentes que reciben una carta de un tal "U.N.O." que les cita en la Isla del Negro el 8 de agosto.
Todos acuden a la cita, puesto que la carta está escrita de tal forma que parece que sea un conocido el que les invite a pasar una semana de vacaciones en una isla localizada en Devon (Inglaterra), que anteriormente había sido comprada por un joven millonario.
En su primera noche, después de una agradable cena, el gramófono de repente suena y no deja indiferente a nadie, una voz masculina hace diez acusaciones -una por cada invitado- acusándolos de la muerte de una persona a cada uno.
Entre sospechas, y una niebla de misterio que rodea toda la isla y la moderna mansión, uno a uno, al ritmo del poema infantil "Diez Negritos", se van sucediendo los crímenes y van siendo asesinados de maneras diferentes.
El miedo se palpa y se hace casi visible ante el lector, el cual, poco a poco, puede ir atando cabos y descubriendo - y sino puede averiguarlo al final del libro- quién es el asesino, cómo perpetúa los diferentes crímenes y qué le lleva a realizarlos.
Pero "Diez Negritos", no es una novela de crímenes cualquiera, puesto que ha sido el origen de grandes películas y otras novelas como por ejemplo "Cluedo, el juego de la sospecha", película del año 1985, la reciente "Knives Out" (2021) que se puede ver tanto en Netflix como en Amazon Prime Video; "Un cadáver a los postres" (1976) o novelas como "Un invitado inesperado" (2018) de la famosa novelista Sheri Lapena.

Undoubtedly the best-selling novel by British writer Agatha Christie, this fantastic story centers on ten different characters who receive a letter from a certain "U.N.O." who summons them to the Isle of Black on August 8.
All of them come without hesitation, as the letter is written in such a way that it seems to be an acquaintance summoning them to spend a week's vacation on an island in Devon (England) that had previously been bought by a young millionaire.
On their first night, after a pleasant dinner, the gramophone suddenly sounds and leaves no one indifferent, a male voice makes ten accusations, one for each guest, accusing them of the death of one person each.
Among suspicions and a fog of mystery that surrounds the whole island and the modern mansion, one by one to the rhythm of the children's poem "Ten Little Niggers", the crimes are happening and one by one they are killed in different ways.
The fear is palpabled and becomes almost visible to the reader, who can gradually tie up the threads and discover, and if not at the end of the book, who the murderer is, how he perpetuates the different crimes and what leads him to carry them out.
But this is not just any crime novel, since it has been the origin of great films and other novels such as "Cluedo, the game of suspicion", a film from 1985, the recent "Knives Out" (2021) that can be seen both on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, "A corpse for dessert" (1976) or novels like "An unexpected guest" (2018) by the famous novelist Sheri Lapena.
